I'm blessed to be growing up in a strong, Christian family with parents who love me, and dear siblings who are my best friends.
Even when I was really little, my parents stressed how good God is; what a wonderful Father He is to the fatherless, a path for the lost, a light to the confused, and love for the ones who aren't easy to love.
Unfortunately, the words "Jesus paid my all; all to Him I owe," and, "He washed my sins away," became pat and meaningless to me. Though I had said "the sinner's prayer", I--from five years of age up until 12 years of age--didn't understand what Jesus was to me.
When I was twelve years old, God provided for me the chance to go to a wonderful three-day camp. This proved to be a heart-changing experience, as I listened to speakers E.J. Swanson and Ken Rudolph, music performed by HeartSong (Cedarville University's band), and found a relationship with God that I hadn't known could be possible.
Since then, I have been learning more and more about God, and journal to my heavenly Father when I can. He sanctifies me daily as I help my parents care for my four brothers and two sisters, and I love Him.
I love to listen to music by Sara Groves and Celtic Woman, specifically--I'm an avid reader, and some of my favorite books are The House of Power, by Patrick Carman, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, and An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott.
I started up a book club called the Readers' Guild, for Christian girls who love to read.
I really love to draw and write, and my main ambition is to be an author and illustrator mainly for children’s books someday. Even when I was really little, my parents stressed how good God is; what a wonderful Father He is to the fatherless, a path for the lost, a light to the confused, and love for the ones who aren't easy to love.
